Peanut Bunny

Materials Needed:

Size 8 double point needles
Bulky Yarn - For the most part I used Brava Bulky
Safety Eyes
Scraps of worsted weight yarn for nose and mouth
Poly-Fill Stuffing

Starting at bottom of the body:

Cast On 6 stitches, place on double point needles and join in the round.

-  kfb in each stitch (12 stitches)
-  knit
-  (kfb, k1) repeat until end of round (18 stitches)
-  knit
-  (kfb, k2) repeat until end of round (24 stithes)
-  knit
-  (kfb, k3) repeat until end of round (30 stitches)
-  knit
- (kfb, k4) repeat until end of round (36 stitches)
-  knit 10 rounds
- (k2tog, k4) repeat until end of round (30 stitches)
-  knit
-  (k2tog, k3) repeat until end of round (24 stitches)
-  knit
-  (k2tog, k2) repeat until end of round (18 stitches)

At this point it's a good idea to secure the bottom of the bunny.  I close up the little hole in the bottom while weaving in my loose end.

Stuff the bunny

-  knit
- (k2tog, k1) repeat until end of round (12 stitches)

now we will start increasing stitches again to form the head
-  (kfb, k1) until end of round (18 stitches)
-  (kfb, k2) until end of round (24 stitches)
-  (kfb, k3) until end of round (30 stitches)
-  knit 7 rounds
-  (k2tog, k3) until end of round (24 stitches)
-  (k2tog, k2) until end of round (18 stitches)
-  (k2tog, k1) until end of round (12 stitches)

At this point I put in the safety eyes and finish stuffing.
-  (k2tog) until the end of round (6 stitches)
Cut tail and pull through the remaining 6 stitches.  Weave in end.

Ears (make 2), the ears are knit flat:

cast on 3 stitches of color A, leaving a long tail for sewing

-  kfb, k, kfb
-  purl all stitches
-  cast on 5 stitches of B color

At this point you will continue in stockinette but making sure you twist your yarns at the color change, to avoid holes.  To do this pick up the color you will be using from below the other color.

-  starting with a knit row, continue in stockinette for 29 rows
-  next row, purl with Color A
-  bind off in knit with Color A

Fold ears so that color B is on top of Color A and sew them together.

Arms (make 2):

cast on 6 stitches on dpns and join in the round, leaving a tail to sew the arm to the body

-  knit
-  (kfb, k1) until end of round (9 stitches)
-  knit 12 rounds
-  (k2tog, k1) until end of round (6 stitches)

at this point stuff the arm, this is where the hand begins

-  knit
-  (kfb, k1) until end of round (9 stitches)
-  knit 3 rounds
-  (k2tog, k1) until end of round (6 stitches)
finish stuffing
- (k2tog) until end of round (3 stitches)
cut yarn and thread through remaining 3 stitches

Legs (make 2):

cast on 6 stitches on dpns and join in the round, leaving a tail to sew leg to the body

-  knit
-  (kfb, k1) until end of round (9 stitches)
-  knit 20 rounds, I found it helpful to stuff as you go
-  (k2tog, k1) until end of round (6 stitches)

this is where the foot begins

-  knit
-  (kfb, k1) until end of round (9 stitches)
-  (kfb, k2) until end of round (12 stitches)
-  knit 2 rounds
-  (k2tog, k2) until end of round (9 stitches)
-  knit
-  (k2tog, k1) until end of round (6 stitches)
finish stuffing
cut yarn and thread through remaining 6 stitches

Finishing:

Using the long tails you left on the arms and legs sew them to the body.  I placed the arms right under the decreases for the neck and I angled the arms to face downward.  I placed the legs at the bottom front of the body, so they would point outward when he was sitting.  Then I sewed on the ears with color B facing the bottom, near the top of the head.  I also made a pom-pom for a fluffy tail, which was placed in the center of his bum, right above the increases on the body.  For the face I embroidered a nose and mouth using scrap worsted weight yarn. Weave in all loose end and now you have a cute bunny.  I hope you enjoyed this pattern and please if you have questions feel free to ask.  Thanks.
